Usage Instructions

Just plug the board in to your breadboard like shown in this picture:

To power from a wall wart, just plug it in to the 2.1mm barrel jack and you should see the Power LED light up. To power it from your computer, unplug the wall wart and insert a USB mini-b cable. After attaching it to your computer, you should see the Power LED light up. That's all there is to it.

A few words of warning:

  • We recommend that you only plug in either a wall wart or USB at any time. The circuit does include a protection diode, so if you try to plug in a wall wart and USB at the same time, you will not damage anything, but we still recommend you use only one at a time.

  • The built-in PTC fuse protects against drawing too much current and against shorts (it works regardless of whether you are using a wall wart or USB power). If your design also includes higher voltages you should be extra careful: Accidentally shorting out the power supply board with high voltage may damage the power supply or your computers USB port.

  • When plugging or unplugging things into/from the breadboard, always turn off power.
